Why is Exact Counter a Free Service?

This is a great question and we are not trying to hide anything from you, so here is how it works.

Exact Counter runs on fast, reliable servers and takes time and money to operate a great service. We can offer this service to our customers by generating some advertising revenue by placing small text links in our web counter code.

We are not getting rich from this, not even close, but we do try and make enough money so that we can offer this service, develop better counters and features and continue to improve Exact Counter.

Will You Ever Put Ugly Banner Ads on my Site?

No, we are 100% dedicated to only offer small text link ads. Our goal is to offer our members a great free service without ever doing anything that will force big ugly unwanted banners. We have been experimenting with adding a "slide out" option for displaying text link ads that will not display any text ads unless a visitor places their mouse cursor over our hit counter image. When the mouse cursor hovers over the image, text ads will "slide out" and be displayed. When the visitor moves the mouse cursor away from the hit counter image, the text ads will slide back in and no longer be visible. We think that these types of ideas offer a win-win situation for everyone.
